HOW FUNERAL HOMES CAN DOMINATE DURING THE HOLIDAYS | FFFW #60

CHEERS TO STUNTS

On this day in 1910, the first movie stunt occurred. This stunt involved a man jumping from a hot-air balloon into the Hudson River. Pretty epic if you ask me. Without stunts, all my favorite action movies would just suck. Simply put, “Mission: Impossible,” without the stunts, would be “Mission: Very Probable.” Who would want to watch that? Today let’s celebrate all of the great kicks and flips that we see every day. Here’s to the stunts- proof that stupid ideas can sometimes look very cool!

Fridays left before Christmas: 6

Let’s go!

GAME TIME!

The first NFL game played on Thanksgiving occurred in 1920. If the average cost of a funeral is $10,000 now, how much would it have been in 1920 (based off inflation)?

a) $623
b) $723
c) $ 823

100,000 WHAT?

100,000 of anything is a lot.

  • 100,000 seconds is equal to 27.7 hours.
  • 100,000 days is equal to 273.9 years.
  • 100,000 miles is equal to the length of the USA (coast to coast) 33 times over.

So, that’s why it’s awesome when we tell you that Parting Pro’s funeral homes have had over 100,000 families use their online arranger. That’s proof that it works, and it works well! They have a mission to skyrocket your cremation business without forcing you to hire any new employees. See for yourself how Parting Pro can work for you!

“The biggest innovation in deathcare in the past decade or two.”

HOW YOU CAN WIN BIG DURING THE HOLIDAYS

At the end of the day, I’m all about marketing. I love it! And, with there only being a few weeks before Christmas and far less before Thanksgiving, I wanted to bring you some marketing ideas to help you get your funeral home name out during the holiday season. Here are just a few.

*These ideas are not endorsed or recommended by Connecting Directors. In fact, the lawyers would like to note they highly DON’T recommend these tactics due to their tackless and “illegal” nature.

** Connecting Directors and our law team would also like to note that they did not approve of putting quotation marks around the word “illegal.” That was done by Eli (FFFW author) to try and lighten the actual physical, integral, and emotional damage such actions could create.

TURKEY CREMATION
Everyone has their ways of cooking a turkey. Some cook it, some deep fry it, and you could throw it in the crematorium. I mean, don’t crank the heat all the way up, but get that bird a little fired up. By 2022, everyone will be asking you if you can provide the main dish at all their functions.

INTERRUPTING SANTA
Funerals need to have a little more fun. So make an arrangement with a local Santa that they can drop by any and every funeral to spread a little Christmas cheer. NOTE: it’s best if you don’t tell the families. Imagine how surprised and happy they’ll be when St. Nick comes loudly barging into the service tossing candy canes and mints on the grieving attendants. THEY’LL LOVE IT! You’ll be the talk of the town.

ANIMATRONIC TOYS
You know the ones that start dancing and singing when you walk by? Have those all throughout the funeral home. Many people are already scared of funeral homes, so these little unexpected surprises will help loosen people up. What can go wrong?

YOU OTTER BE PROUD

Let’s be honest, our profession gets a lot of negative press, so we’ve searched the internet to find stories of funeral things getting respect, and doing great things!
