BATESVILLE NEEDS TO BREAK THIS RECORD + IT’S OUR BIRTHDAY | FFFW #52

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I have some exciting news for you lovely people today. This is our 52nd edition of the FFFW, which means we’ve been pushing GIFs and goodness into your inbox for the past YEAR! Let me be the first to say, thank you for reading. If it weren’t for your continued support, this crazy experiment would have died a while ago. BUT we aren’t dying. In fact, we’re growing. That’s right! Now, we’re powered by our friends at Parting Pro. Thanks to their support, we’ll be able to continue this journey for many more weeks to come.

Now, I don’t feel like this is MY birthday, I feel like it is OUR birthday. Like, we’ve all been doing this together. So, happy birthday to you. Here’s a birthday gift GIF.

GAME TIME!

The average age of male funeral professionals is 55 years old. If played on repeat, how many times could a person listen to La Bamba straight through a 55 year period?
a) 15,649,531.6 times
b) 53,749,352,5 times
c) 13,790,742.9 times

FASCINATING STATS (SPONSORED)

Here are some cool stats!

  • The fastest window cleaner washed three windows in nine seconds
  • In one minute, a man smashed 80 eggs with just his head
  • The fastest talker said 260 words in 23.8 seconds

These things fascinate me! Here’s another fun thing- through Parting Pro, people can complete cremation arrangements in 18 minutes. That’s AWESOME! By giving families a simple online experience, Parting Pro also helps funeral businesses increase merchandise sales, acquire positive reviews, and grow profit.

Plus, they’re teaming up with us so you can continue to get the GIFs and goods you get every week from the FFFW. So, we think they’re pretty cool.

Basically, if I had to sum it up using alliteration, I would say to remember the 13 P’s.
“Parting Pro Provides Positive Profit for their Partnered Providers by Providing People with Programmed Painless Participation Possibilities.”

CRAZY FUNERAL WORLD RECORDS

Y’all, I’ve always loved world records, and I know the snippet right above this had some stats in it, but I want to give you even more. Why? Because it’s our birthday and you deserve it. So, here are three fascinating funeral world records!
1) Highest Attended Funeral

The highest attended funeral was held in 1969 for a chief minister in the Tamil Nadu region of India named CN Annadurai. This event brought out about 15 million people in total. That’s a lot of handshakes.

2) Most Coffins Assembled in a Lifetime

According to Guinness World Records,

“During his working career at Moser Holzindustrie GmbH, Herbert Weber (Austria) has assembled 707,335 coffins, from 5 September 1978 to 5 September 2008.”

I bet one of our people at Batesville can break that record! Let’s go!

3) Largest Funeral for a Fictional Object

I know this seems wild, but once again, according to Guinness World Records,

“The largest funeral for a fictional object was on 23 November 2006, to mark the launch of Guitar Hero II. A funeral for the air guitar was held in London, UK. More than 80 mourners were in attendance, making it the biggest ever funeral for a fictional object.”

Now, this record is one I feel that I can personally get behind beating. The more I write about world records, the more I want to make one or beat one. Like this past year has been awesome, but what if in the second year of the FFFW, we broke a world record? Hmmm. Time to go to work…

COMIC OF THE WEEK

It’s always a different story when you’re talking to a vendor…

YOU OTTER BE PROUD

Let’s be honest, our profession gets a lot of negative press, so we’ve searched the internet to find stories of funeral things getting respect, and doing great things!
1) Funeral home won’t charge family of SSG Knauss for services or transportation
2) Mears Family Funerals Wins Prestigious ‘Digital Innovation’ 2021 Award
3) Free coffee funeral home drive-thru returns to help the homeless
