Valuable Education at a (Social) Distance

WHEELING, IL— CANA’s online version of the Crematory Operations Certification Program (COCP) is the next step in meeting the needs of a rapidly changing industry and the needs of a socially distanced society. Distance education in funeral service education is not new, at least not for those earning degrees or certificates for those seeking continuing education either. But if you want to invest in quality online continuing education that actually increases the bottom line, it becomes a different story. Truly valuable opportunities can be rare.

While in-person training is often the preferred method of learning for many, learning online and on-demand can meet your need for certification wherever you are now. Developed following best practices for adult workplace learning, the online version of the CANA COCP is highly interactive, engaging, and thought-provoking. The online program features the same valuable content as our highly regarded in-person course. Via the online course, learners will complete activities, watch video, read articles, complete case studies, and more from the ease and comfort of their own device.

There are many advantages to online learning, and this course is no exception. The online COCP is self-paced, and does not need to be completed in one sitting. Learners can start and stop at their convenience. Registration is available at any time and provides immediate access to the course and the crematory operations manual. There are no travel expenses to add to the registration fee and there is no time away from the office, easing the burden of trying to provide coverage while employees are away. Plus, while we all hope to be able to travel and congregate with our colleagues soon, online education allows you to receive quality content at a safe distance.

The online version of the COCP has already been accepted for certification and continuing education by many of the states that require it and has been adopted for use by several mortuary science and funeral service schools. The response to the program has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re proud to offer this additional option to our customers.
