Venice Memorial Gardens Introduces Healing Path to Support Community Grief and Reflection
VENICE, Fla. (June 30, 2026) — Venice Memorial Gardens has installed a new Healing Path, offering families and visitors in Venice and surrounding communities a dedicated space for reflection, remembrance and emotional healing.
The Healing Path is designed to provide a peaceful, guided walking experience that supports individuals and families navigating grief. Thoughtfully integrated into the cemetery landscape, the path includes contemplative features intended to promote mindfulness and encourage healthy processing of loss.
“This addition reflects our ongoing commitment to serving families beyond traditional cemetery services,” said Danielle Bicker, general sales manager of Venice Memorial Gardens. “The Healing Path creates a meaningful place where people can slow down, reflect and feel supported in their grief journey. It’s about providing comfort not just during services, but in the days, months and years that follow.”
The concept of a Healing Path draws on research and best practices in grief care, emphasizing physical movement and intentional reflection as tools for emotional well-being. Visitors are invited to walk the path at their own pace, using prompts and the natural setting to process memories and emotions.
Jason Troyer, PhD, a grief specialist who co-founded Healing Path Cemetery, said initiatives like this represent a shift in how cemeteries support communities.
“Grief is not something people ‘get over’ — it’s something they learn to carry and integrate into their lives,” Troyer said. “Spaces like a Healing Path provide a simple but powerful way for individuals to engage with their grief in a healthy, self-guided way. It brings together reflection, nature and movement in a way that can be deeply restorative.”
The installation aligns with a broader movement within the cemetery profession to expand services that focus on wellness, legacy and ongoing care for families. By incorporating innovative features such as the Healing Path, Venice Memorial Gardens aims to meet evolving community needs while honoring its long-standing role as a place of remembrance.
Located at 1950 Center Road, the Venice Memorial Gardens Healing Path is now open to the public from sunrise to sunset. The cemetery office is open Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday by appointment. Community members are encouraged to visit, whether they are honoring a loved one or simply seeking a quiet moment of reflection.
