Cold Hands Embalming Tip of the Week: Tuck a Towel Under the Collar to Prevent Soiling a Uniform
This week’s tip was sent in by guest tipster, fellow embalmer, and Marine veteran @helios_0331
This is a great tip for any case but especially if you are preparing a uniformed soldier or veteran. Being an Army wife for 10 years, I got to experience the intricate preparations that soldiers go through to make sure they dress blues/greens are appropriately displayed. Part of that process includes making sure the uniform is pressed and CLEAN. The uniform must be free of lint and dust so make sure you run a lint roller over the uniform after you implement this tip an immediately before viewing.
Pro Tip
Swipe to see the Vanguard measuring tool for placement of the “ribbon rack”. It’s important to get the measurements correct when preparing the 🏅 uniform. If you need assurance you’ve applied it properly call your local VFW and they can help.
As we spend the day remembering our beloved fallen heroes, I hope this tip helps to remind you how important tiny details may be for a family of a veteran. Happy Memorial Day y’all.
P.S. If you love military history and embalming relics as much as I do you will love our guest tipster’s Instagram page!! Check it out @helios_0331
