Creedy Announces 21st Century Summit in October

Hands-on Workshop to Explore New Sustainable Strategies for Death Care

RALEIGH, NC – Alan Creedy, chief strategist at Creedy & Company, announced the latest in his Blue Ocean Tour series of highly participatory workshops for Death Care practitioners.  This two day summit, intended for those seeking a new and better approach to running a funeral home in today’s complex world, will be held October 28 – 30 in Arizona.

The 21st Century Summit will begin with a journey through the irrelevant and outdated assumptions,” commented Creedy.  “Later exploration of more relevant assumptions about our current and future reality will empower a funeral practitioner to craft a vision of what customers really want and how to offer it profitably.

As with the previous Creedy workshops, the Summit will utilize both the learning laboratory of the Camino Del Sol Funeral Home and Cremation Garden in Sun City AZ and the classroom environment of the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ.  In addition to Alan Creedy, three additional faculty moderators – Bruce Buchanan, Todd Borgardt and Steve Shaffer – will share their expertise and key elements of their business strategy as well as lead workshops that will turn insights into personally applicable action steps for each attendee.

“I believe there are three primary strategies that will take a firm to a more successful and secure future:  repurposing, growth through acquisition or safe harbor.  Until we fully understand the new reality, we cannot hope to imagine how to repurpose our company and our assets, let alone develop a winning strategy,” Creedy observed.  “Our goal at the summit is to empower attendees to participate in the workshops and identify a strategy or strategies that best suit them.

Buchanan’s presentation, Slaying Dragon’s – A Path from Mediocrity to Excellence, will discuss firsthand how he repurposed the staff at a company that had become a moribund institution.  He will discuss how he morphed his company from stagnation to vitality to leverage the opportunity of serving a new and ever changing customer.

The workshop by Borgardt, Be First in the Mind or Be Out, will present the cutting edge communication strategy he developed that is fresh and innovative.  It is the first marketing strategy that successfully unites traditional media with digital media strategies to present a consistent and uniform message.

Shaffer’s seminar, We Only Have Two Choices – Grow or Get Out, will share buying and selling strategies from the viewpoint of a regional consolidator.  The session that follows this presentation will include an exercise in which attendees will determine a value for their firm.

Lodging and travel accommodations will be arranged directly by each attendee. Workshop fees include all meals as well as bus transportation to and from Thunderbird Executive Inn and the Sky Harbor Airport as well as all offsite events associated with the Summit.  Registrations paid by September 20, 2014 receive a 10% discount.  Space is limited to the first 50 attendees, so register early and avoid the waiting list.  More details about the seminar and information on registration is available at: http://funeralhomeconsulting.org/21st-century-summit/
