A Statement from Randall Earl, CFSP, President of the National Funeral Directors Association: Dover Air Force Base Port Mortuary

On behalf of the members of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), I would like to express our deep sadness in light of the recent news from the Dover Air Force Base Port Mortuary. Our thoughts and prayers are with those families who have been impacted by this news, not only today on Veterans Day, but always.

It brings us distress to hear that our fallen heroes were not always given the treatment they deserved. I am hopeful that this unfortunate situation will be thoroughly reviewed and investigated and that any problems identified will be quickly and properly addressed. NFDA and its members are willing to assist the staff of Dover Port Mortuary in developing standards of care for the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

NFDA members have had the privilege and high honor of caring for the soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and others who have passed through the Dover Port Mortuary. On behalf of our members, I reaffirm our pledge to serve all families who entrust their loved ones to us, especially our fallen warriors and their families, with dignity, respect and nothing short of the highest professional and ethical standards.
