image The Executive Director of the Association of Women Funeral Directors, Kim Stacey, contacted me this week. She is looking to Connecting Directors to help her create a more powerful member benefit package. “Currently, we have $100 of Life Tributes credits – the gift of Joe Joachim, of funeralOne. Many of you may have attended their presentation in Boston at the NFDA; funeralOne is a leader in technological solutions for funeral homes – which includes their award-winning personalization software suite, Life Tributes.

“We also have supportive articles and ebooks; and various audio files. Rob Heppell, of Funeral Futurist, is making his set of educational DVDs, focusing on ways funeral homes can use the power of the Internet in marketing and outreach available to members at no cost. He normally charges a fee for this collection, but Rob’s long been a generous supporter of AWFD. And recently, Tom Monahan, of Funeral Ticker, provided us with a really-useful benefit to add to the package.”

Kim is looking to Connecting Directors to connect her with vendors and suppliers who would like to support women funeral service professionals by a generous gift of a valuable member benefit. “We have a selection of Sponsorship packages on the AWFD Web site (www.wfdconnect.com), and I encourage forward-thinking vendors and consultants to step up to the plate and join us in building a robust membership.”

You can send benefit inquiries to Kim directly at kim@wfdconnect.com. “I’d love to engage innovative entrepreneurs, as well as the tried-and-true suppliers of products and services funeral home owners use to successfully run their businesses. Whether they are administrative support, discounts on periodicals, prep room or selection room products, or those designed to provide greater value for client families, I’d enjoy bringing them to our members. And, don’t forget that many of our members are mortuary college students, so this is an opportunity to connect with the future women funeral service professionals, too!” Interested parties may also elect to sign up through the AWFD Sponsorship Packages page, at www.wfdconnect.com/advertise.”

“Let’s talk,” said Kim with warmth enough to be felt through the phone lines. “I’m deeply committed to serving the women of funeral service. That means exploring opportunities, Ryan; and I’d be delighted to engage in an open conversation with anyone who shares that same commitment! Together, we can make a difference.”
