Where Peer Support Meets Mentorship

Virtual Funeral Professionals Peer Support Meeting in October

WHEELING, IL— Who helped you become the funeral professional you are today? Funeral service is filled with uniquely supportive and compassionate professionals we get to know throughout our careers. On October 17, Funeral Professional Peer Support (FPPS) and the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) host a peer support meeting to celebrate the mentors who made a difference and talk about the ways we continue to grow.

Lisa Smith, FPPS Wellness Director, and Kim Zavrotny, FPPS US Program Director, facilitate the October meeting. Together, they’ll talk about the role mentorship has in funeral service. The unique dynamic between mentor and mentee paves the way for an exchange of thoughts and ideas that foster connection with colleagues.

Given that funeral service attracts people with a strong desire to care for others with compassion, Kim and Lisa will talk about the power of peer support and mentorship to promote both wellness and growth in the workplace. At Tuesday’s meeting, we’ll focus on the key aspects of the mentor relationship to listen, inspire, empower and connect with colleagues from across the profession.

Join Lisa, Kim, and CANA to talk about your mentor—or mentee—and offer support to your colleagues. Connect with your fellow funeral professional peers on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 8pm ET / 7pm CT / 5pm PT via Zoom link at goCANA.org/peersupport. No registration is required, simply follow the link to join.
