PRE-PLANNING MADE SOMEONE A MILLIONAIRE

Forrest Fenn was a baller. One, his name was Forrest Fenn, and two, his pre-planning created a decade of adventure for so many people and even made one of them a millionaire. See, even if you aren’t familiar with his name, you may know a little bit about his story. Forrest Fenn is the man who buried a million-dollar treasure out in the desert and offered the winnings to whoever found it. All of this was sparked by a terminal diagnosis he received in 1988.

Eventually in 2020, his treasure was found, just months before Mr.Fenn would pass away. After a decade of treasure hunters decoding clues, driving themselves crazy, and even a few getting themselves killed on the adventure, Forrest was able to meet the person who found it and look through his treasure one last time.

So… Why am I writing this? Like, what does it have to do with anything right now? Well, truthfully, I saw his name pop-up on a list of notable deaths from 2020, and it reignited the fascination I’ve had with this story for the past three years.

Basically, Forrest Fenn did amazing pre-planning, maybe the best of all time. He took a scary diagnosis and made something really exciting out of it that ended up changing several peoples’ lives. So, I guess I’m writing this to say the following:

In life, a lot of tricky situations come our way. They just do. They’ll affect our lives in ways that we can’t control. But… We can still do our best to make the most out of them. We could all stand to have a little more Forrest Fenn in our lives.
