ENJOY THE NORMAL

I just realized it’s almost the holiday season. See, next week NFDA begins, and then just a week later we have Halloween, and then BAM it’s November! This year has flown by and most businesses are already making their 2022 plans! So, with that being said, I want to challenge you to embrace and celebrate the final few days/weeks of the normal season. The Holidays are awesome! I’m a Christmas fanatic, but it’s not like the rest of the year sucks all the time. In fact, normal life can be pretty awesome! Here’s a puppy that’s awesome regardless of the month!

GAME TIME!

NFDA 2021 is being held in Nashville, TN. Nashville is a booming city right now. How many people move to Nashville a day?

a) 42
b) 82
c) 202

FASCINATING STATS (SPONSORED)

Here are some cool stats!

  • The fastest window cleaner washed three windows in nine seconds
  • In one minute, a man smashed 80 eggs with just his head
  • The fastest talker said 260 words in 23.8 seconds

These things fascinate me! Here’s another fun thing- through Parting Pro, people can complete cremation arrangements in 18 minutes. That’s AWESOME! By giving families a simple online experience, Parting Pro also helps funeral businesses increase merchandise sales, acquire positive reviews, and grow profit.

Plus, they’re teaming up with us so you can continue to get the GIFs and goods you get every week from the FFFW. So, we think they’re pretty cool.

Basically, if I had to sum it up using alliteration, I would say to remember the 13 P’s.
“Parting Pro Provides Positive Profit for their Partnered Providers by Providing People with Programmed Painless Participation Possibilities.”

WHAT NOT TO DO IN NASHVILLE

So the whole funeral profession will be arriving in Nashville this coming week for NFDA 2021. This should be an incredible time, and it’s the first event at this scale that the profession has had in two years. Now, here’s a fun fact- I’m a Nashvillian. So, ever since it was announced that this convention would get a green light, I’ve been thinking about how to best prepare all of you for my city. And… I think it’s best to let you know what you SHOULD NOT do.

1) Don’t get drunk on a pedal tavern.

It’s not a good look, the internet exists, and cameras are everywhere.
2) Don’t cat-call drunk girls on pedal taverns.

Guys go to Broadway for the girls, the girls go to Broadway for the free drinks that guys buy them. They don’t want you, they only want your money.  Also, again, the internet exists, and cameras are everywhere.

3) Don’t search for free parking.

Technically there are a few free parking spots in Downtown Nashville, but I’ve never been able to find them, and you won’t either. Just accept your $30 parking now and it won’t hurt as much.

4) Don’t buy boots or cowboy hats downtown.

They mark those babies up a good bit. Do yourself a favor and just shop on Amazon.

5) Don’t just stay downtown.

If you have some free-time, check out the other less chaotic parts of town. If you have a rental to drive around, I’d recommend checking out the shops/restaurants in East Nashville, and I would check out downtown Franklin. Demonbreun Street has some of the best spots in town and it’s not far at all from the convention center.

Have a blast! Please, just remember these five rules (especially one and two).

(Pedal Tavern for reference)

COMIC OF THE WEEK

YOU OTTER BE PROUD

Let’s be honest, our profession gets a lot of negative press, so we’ve searched the internet to find stories of funeral things getting respect, and doing great things!
1) Roller-Owens Funeral Home helps to purchase new K-9 officer
2) New SW Minnesota cemetery will let veterans rest closer to home
