INDEPENDENCE DAY

I know, today’s the 2nd, not the 4th. However, this is the FRIDAY Funeral Fast Wrap, not the Sunday Sepulture Swift Roll. Anyway, regardless of the day, we’re celebrating this amazing American holiday in a very FFFW style with games and GIFs. So buckle up and enjoy the ride!

GAME TIME!

No US President has ever been cremated; however, two VP’s have. Can you guess which one of these VP’s was NOT cremated?

Charles Dawes

HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME

You’re very busy. You have to be. This profession doesn’t lend itself to copious amounts of free time and a light workload. So, wouldn’t it be nice to have some backup? Wouldn’t it feel freeing to have people you trust working with your company and brand? Well, DISRUPT Media wants to give you those feelings and so much more.

Not only does DISRUPT Media provide you with a digital marketing strategy, 24/7 page monitoring (reading messages, responding to comments, etc.), and the boldest ideas to help you pierce through the noise, but DISRUPT Media gives you a full-blown team. That’s right.

Members of DISRUPT Media have access to writers, graphic designers, creative developers, and an analytics team that all share the same goal: they want to see you succeed.

Sounds good? Too good? Well… good. It only gets better because this whole team only costs a third of what you might pay one full-time employee.

See how DISRUPT Media can help you.

HOW TO MANAGE YOUR TIME

This week, CD put out a great article about managing your time and being as productive as possible. And, this article was great; however, I’m a bit of a time management baller, and I have a few suggestions of my own. So, consider that first article (which you can read here), the warm-up, which was “Time Management 101” now, we’re getting into some expert-level stuff; this is like “Time Management 87345089706.” Now, hold on to your brain, it’s about to get blown.

1) Never be specific. When people ask what time you’ll be arriving somewhere, just say, “in a bit.” Now no specific time has been established therefore you can’t be late. It’s good to have a lot of terms for this type of thing, so some other synonyms for “a bit” would be a cinch, a while, a tidbit (this is like a bit but smaller), and a jiffy. Congrats, now, you will never be late.

2) Just don’t schedule much. There are like seven billion people in this world; what makes you think that you’re the one that has to do everything? If you avoid doing most things, you’ll never really be very busy and feel a lot freer. Do you have employees or co-workers? Well, if you’re reading this before they do, just pass your work onto them.

3) Carry a calendar and write in it often. You are now a master at time management, but not everyone around you is. They still think that you need to have a clear schedule, and good routines to be able to have “good time management.” Those around you aren’t ready for your new level of understanding. So, it’s vital that you look like a traditional time expert. Now, don’t worry; you don’t need to lower yourself to scheduling real things inside this calendar. Just carry it around and work on some doodles or something; it’s just important that you look busy.

There you go. For legal reasons, this advice isn’t technically endorsed by Connecting Directors.

COMIC OF THE WEEK

Those dollars really do be lacking.

YOU OTTER BE PROUD

Let’s be honest, our profession gets a lot of negative press, so we’ve searched the internet to find stories of funeral things getting respect and doing great things!
