TIS THE SEASON

This morning I started getting hit with Christmas ads, videos, and emails. I thought to myself, “This is crazy, it’s only July!” Then I remembered- IT’S JULY! One of my favorite parts of this month is that for some reason, which I don’t really understand, people have created a beautiful thing called Christmas in July. I don’t get it, but I love it. So, Welcome to the Christmas in July special!

GAME TIME!

“Marley was dead to begin with.” We can assume Marley died around the year 1800. If the average cost of a funeral is $8,000 in 2021, what would be the equivalent of $8,000 in 1800? (click your answer)
$168
$53
$371

HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR TIME

You’re very busy. You have to be. This profession doesn’t lend itself to copious amounts of free time and a light workload. So, wouldn’t it be nice to have some backup? Wouldn’t it feel freeing to have people you trust working with your company and brand? Well, DISRUPT Media wants to give you those feelings and so much more.

Not only does DISRUPT Media provide you with a digital marketing strategy, 24/7 page monitoring (reading messages, responding to comments, etc.), and the boldest ideas to help you pierce through the noise, but DISRUPT Media gives you a full-blown team. That’s right.

Members of DISRUPT Media have access to writers, graphic designers, creative developers, and an analytics team that all share the same goal: they want to see you succeed.

Sounds good? Too good? Well… good. It only gets better because this whole team only costs a third of what you might pay one full-time employee.

See how DISRUPT Media can help you.

CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGNS

Like I said, I started getting hit with Christmas stuff this morning. So, even if you’re someone who is against enjoying Christmas until Thanksgiving is over, you need to start thinking about what your business is going to do for the holiday season. Christmas is 22 weeks away, and Thanksgiving is only 18 weeks away. We all know things take time, so you may want to start thinking about how you want to celebrate now.

That being said, I already have some ideas for you. 10/10 recommend all of these gems.

1) Embalm-an-Elf!

Basically, it’s Build-A-Bear, but the kids from your community walk away from your funeral home with a little elf friend that’s ready to RIP.

2) Get a sleigh hearse. Mr.Claus delivers gifts to children all over the world, you’ll be delivering bodies to cemeteries all over your county. Not too much of a difference.

3) Film a Hallmark-ish movie based around a funeral director working in your funeral home.
“But wait, I’ve never directed a movie. I can’t act. How will this work?” – You.

My advice, don’t overthink it. Watch a couple Hallmark films and you’ll see you’re overqualified.

Bam! Do any of these and your phone will be ringing like some silver bells.

COMIC OF THE WEEK

Hate to see it. Another lousy price shopper. DON’T COME BACK AGAIN SOMEDAY! YA HEAR?

YOU OTTER BE PROUD

Let’s be honest, our profession gets a lot of negative press, so we’ve searched the internet to find stories of funeral things getting respect, and doing great things!
1) Leading nonprofit Jewish funeral chapel is transforming approach to end-of-life issues
2) ‘Close to back to normal’: Post-COVID, Fall River sees uptick in funerals, delayed memorials
3) Wisconsin Gravestone Preservation Company Helps ‘Reset The Clock,’ Give History More Life
