Happy Belated

Yesterday was National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day. However, here at the FFFW, we try to celebrate our readers on a weekly basis. So, let’s consider this a continuation, as the second day of your appreciation extravaganza. In honor of all that, I have special GIFs just for you. That’s right, here are three dogs wearing party hats – just to show our appreciation!

GAME TIME!

Which state has the highest cremation rate?

  1. Nevada
  2. Washington
  3. Utah

SHOULD YOUR FUNERAL HOME BE ON TIKTOK?

TikTok almost isn’t new anymore. It started getting mainstream in 2019 and built a massive user base during the pandemic. So with so many people being on a platform, shouldn’t you be there too?

Well, no… but yes. See, your demographic isn’t actively using TikTok enough to justify a large budget and time commitment to it. There’s also no way to target your content specifically to your community. So for the time being, you shouldn’t stress too much over this platform. That being said, adapting the trends to a funeral home would be amazing to see, and we here at the FFFW VERY MUCH support it. So, though you don’t HAVE to and it might not be SUPER beneficial, you should start making some Toks.

So what does work? Still, the best platform for reaching people 55 and up (your target demographic) is Facebook. And nobody manages funeral homes on Facebook as well as DISRUPT Media. If you’re interested in seeing high ROI through social media then you should see what all DM has to offer!

The World’s Oldest Pet Cemetery

Until I started working for DISRUPT Media, I didn’t know that pet cemeteries were a thing. After managing the Facebook profile of a very respected pet cemetery, I saw hundreds of comments and messages from people who were deeply impacted by their business. That being said, I always assumed that these were a new-ish thing. However as it turns out, they have been around for a hot minute.

This week I read an article about a 2,000-year-old pet cemetery that was found in Egypt! That’s right, two centuries ago, people were doing the same thing we’re doing now. Obviously, not every culture holds animals as highly as the Egyptians, who viewed them as part of their faith. Still, the modern world views their puppers as their children, so it’s interesting to see that some of our “new and crazy” mortuary ideas may not be as “new and crazy” as we think. Or maybe they’re just as obscure as some think, and they’re “old and crazy” ideas. Who knows?

COMIC OF THE WEEK

YOU OTTER BE PROUD

Let’s be honest, our profession gets a lot of negative press, so we’ve searched the internet to find stories of funeral things getting respect and doing great things!

Thank you for reading The Friday Funeral Fast Wrap! Have any ideas or hot-tips? Send those our way!
