Selected Educational Trust Launches Free Online Course to Help New Funeral Service Professionals Prepare for Their Next Career Opportunity
LINCOLNSHIRE, IL — July 16, 2026 — The Selected Educational Trust is pleased to announce the launch of Preparing for a Job Interview, a free online course designed to help funeral service students, apprentices and early-career professionals successfully navigate the job search and interview process.
Available at no cost to learners, the self-paced course provides practical guidance on every stage of career preparation, including identifying employment opportunities, creating professional résumés and cover letters, building a strong professional presence, preparing for interviews, evaluating job offers, and following up with prospective employers.
Unlike many career development resources that are designed for a broad audience, Preparing for a Job Interview was created specifically for the funeral service profession. The course incorporates the unique skills, values, and expectations associated with serving families, helping participants understand how to communicate their qualifications, professionalism, empathy, and commitment to service throughout the hiring process.

The Trust partnered with Certified Safety Training to host the course on its learning platform, ensuring broad accessibility and a seamless learning experience for participants. Through this partnership, the course is available free of charge to anyone interested in pursuing a career in funeral service or advancing within the profession.
