OGR Installs 2026-2027 Board of Directors

Peter Urban, Jr. of Ambler, PA to serve as the association’s 2026-2027 President

INDIANAPOLIS (May 29, 2026) – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), the world’s leading professional association dedicated to making independent funeral homes exceptional, is pleased to announce the installation of Peter Urban, Jr. as the new president of the organization. Urban is a third-generation licensed funeral director of Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, Inc. in Ambler, PA.

A lifelong resident of Ambler, Urban shared his desire to become a funeral director at the age of nine and began helping his father, Skip, at the funeral home at 16. A 2004 graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School, he went on to earn both a Bachelor’s Degree in Mortuary Science from Gannon University and an Associate’s Degree in Funeral Service Education from Northampton Community College in 2008.

Urban remains deeply committed to both his community and the funeral profession. He serves with the Rotary Club of Ambler and is an elected member of the Parish Council at St. Alphonsus Church in Maple Glen, Pennsylvania.

After being installed as president on May 6 at OGR’s signature event PROGRESS, Urban reflected on his vision for OGR during his presidency.

“As I look ahead, my focus is simple: to strengthen our connections, to support innovation and education, and to ensure we continue to lead with excellence,” said Urban.

As part of this transition, Kim Hunter, Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles-Newbigging Chapel (Toronto, Canada), assumed the role of Past President. Justin Zabor, The Zabor Funeral Home, Inc. (Parma, OH), was installed as President-Elect. Adam Guthrie, Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., (Franklin, PA) was installed as Secretary/Treasurer.

The ceremony also included the re-installation of board members Larnique Mickens, Heritage Mortuary, Inc. (Las Vegas, NV) and Gregory McClary, Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home-Westland (Westland, MI).

The board also welcomed Laura Kendrick-Godwin, Pollock-Randall Funeral Home (Port Huron, MI) for her first term on the OGR board.
