Rollings Funeral Service Announces Partnership with O’Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home

Rollings Funeral Service is proud to announce its recent partnership with O’Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home, a respected funeral provider serving the Novi, Michigan community and surrounding areas. The partnership expands Rollings Funeral Service’s footprint in the Detroit metro area and strengthens the company’s presence Michigan.

Founded in 1898, O’Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home has built a longstanding reputation for trust and exceptional service to families. The firm currently serves approximately 300 families annually.

John P. O’Brien, former owner of O’Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home, reflected on the funeral home’s legacy and his family’s role in its continued growth.

“Our funeral home has been a part of the community since 1898, built on a foundation of trust, compassion, and service to families during their most difficult times,” said O’Brien. “My father John J. started in 1950 and I joined the firm in 1986. We both became involved because we felt a strong calling to serve others, and over time, that calling turned into a lifelong commitment.”

After decades of dedicated service, O’Brien said the timing was right to transition ownership in a way that would preserve the funeral home’s future while positioning it for continued success.

“After many years of service, I felt it was the right moment to ensure the funeral home’s future by passing it into capable hands,” O’Brien said. “This decision was guided by a desire to preserve what we’ve built while allowing for continued growth and fresh perspectives that will benefit the community for years to come.”

In seeking the right partner, O’Brien emphasized the importance of finding an organization aligned with the funeral home’s longstanding values.

“It was important to find someone who shares the same core values: compassion, integrity, and a deep respect for the families we serve and the staff that serves them,” he said. “I also wanted a partner with the experience, resources, and long-term vision to carry the funeral home forward without losing its personal touch.”

O’Brien chose Rollings Funeral Service for its reputation and philosophy of supporting community-based funeral homes while preserving their individual identities.

“Rollings Funeral Service stood out because of their strong reputation, their commitment to supporting local funeral homes, and their respect for each firm’s unique identity,” O’Brien said. “They understand the importance of community-based care and demonstrated a genuine desire to build upon, not replace, the traditions we’ve established.”

Greg Rollings, Chairman of the Board at Rollings Funeral Service, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership.

“We’re honored to partner with O’Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home and continue its legacy of remarkable service,” said Rollings. “John and his family have built something special over generations and we’re committed to preserving the heritage of the firm while supporting its future growth.”

Looking ahead, O’Brien expressed optimism about the funeral home’s future under Rollings’ partnership. “I’m excited to see the funeral home continue to grow while staying rooted in its traditions,” he said. “With new energy and resources, there are opportunities to expand services and better meet the evolving needs of the community.”
