Doric Products Invests in Advanced Laser Cutting Technology to Support Growth and Innovation
New equipment enhances efficiency, expands capabilities
Corbin, KY — April 2, 2026 — Doric Products, Inc. today announced the installation of a state-of-the-art laser cutting machine at its Classic Metal Vault manufacturing facility in Kentucky, marking a significant investment in both the company’s continued growth and the future of the deathcare industry. The new laser system will play a central role in supporting Doric’s expanding columbarium product line, while also improving production efficiency across its metal burial vault and metal urn vault offerings.
“The addition of this laser cutting technology is an important step forward for our operation,” said Jim Wiens, President of Doric Products, Inc. “It allows us to keep pace with the growing demand for our columbarium products while enhancing precision and efficiency across multiple areas of our manufacturing process.”
The Kentucky facility serves as a key production hub for Doric Products, fabricating not only metal burial vaults and urn vaults, but also the company’s increasingly in-demand columbarium units. The speed and accuracy of the new laser system will significantly streamline fabrication, enabling faster production timelines and greater consistency in finished products.
Previously, the company relied on waterjet cutting technology for a range of applications. While effective for certain materials, waterjet systems are less efficient for high-volume metal fabrication. The new laser system is specifically optimized for metal cutting, allowing Doric to improve throughput while maintaining high standards of quality.
In addition to operational efficiencies, the enhanced capabilities provided by the laser cutting machine open the door for future innovation. Doric is now exploring opportunities to expand into more personalized and custom metal products, offering new options for families and individuals both within and beyond the cemetery space.
“This investment reflects our commitment to continuous improvement,” added Wiens. “It strengthens our ability to support our dealers and the funeral homes they serve, while also positioning us to explore new ways to meet the evolving needs of the families in those communities.”
Doric will continue to utilize its waterjet cutting systems for non-metal materials such as stone and plastics, ensuring the company maintains versatility across its full range of product offerings. By investing in advanced manufacturing technology, Doric Products reinforces its dedication to innovation, quality, and long-term growth—both for the company and the profession as a whole.
