Welcome to the hundred-and-ninetieth edition of Morticians’ Monday Morning Mashup, 4M #190, where we’ll serve up bite-sized, easily-digestible nuggets of the deathcare news you need to crush conversations in the week ahead. Bon appetit!

Thank you …

Today we remember those souls who paid the ultimate price in our ongoing fight for freedom and peace for all. We thank them for their service and for their sacrifice.

Don’t ya love him madly

Nearly 40 years ago, someone stole a bust of The Doors’ frontman Jim Morrison from his resting place in a Paris cemetery. Last week, the bust was back, thanks to Paris police, who found the statue during a search related to a fraud case. Morrison was buried at Paris’ Pere Lachaise cemetery after his death in the French capital in 1971 at the age of 27. The sculpture, by Croatian artist Mladen Mikulin, was placed at the grave in 1981 to mark the 10th anniversary of Morrison’s death and was stolen just 7 years later.

Manicures for morticians

One of the newest trends in the world of manicures is the “coffin nail,” a nail that tapers in at the sides and features a blunt, squared-off tip, similar to the shape of a six-sided coffin. Women’s Health calls this style a “bold yet elegant aesthetic.” We call it 100% work appropriate!
