Selected Independent Funeral Homes Names New Board Director

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL — Selected Independent Funeral Homes is pleased to announce that John E. Keohane, Co-President of Keohane Funeral Home in Quincy, MA has joined the Board of Directors as the Group 1 representative.

Keohane’s grandfather Cornelius was very active in the organization, and his father Edward served as a former president of National Selected Morticians (NSM). In 2017 the firm celebrated 50 years of continuous membership.

“As our communities begin to emerge from the pandemic, all businesses will face crucial challenges in the years to come. Selected is positioned at the forefront to help its members not only to survive, but thrive, well into the future. I look forward to learning and sharing best practices that will allow all funeral homes to remain relevant in a changing world,” said Keohane. “I am truly honored to continue our family’s involvement with the finest organization in funeral service.”

Together with his brother Dennis Keohane, John Keohane is responsible for the overall operation of the family business, receiving support and advice from their father, Edward, who serves as Chairman. John helps families plan funeral services for loved ones, ensures business operations are being run smoothly, and keeps the company active in the community.

Keohane is a graduate of Providence College and New England Institute at Mount Ida College, and in addition to Selected Independent Funeral Homes, he belongs to a number of organizations, including: Quincy Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus, Massachusetts Funeral Director’s Association, Quincy Chamber of Commerce, and South Shore Chamber of Commerce.
