Cold Hands Embalming Tip of the Week

We are excited to collaborate with Cold Hands and Monica Torres, renowned licensed funeral director, embalmer, cremationist, cosmetic reconstructive specialist, desairologist, and owner/founder of NXT Generation Mortuary Support! Every week Connecting Directors will now share “Cold Hands Embalming Tip of the Week,” which Monica posts each Sunday afternoon to her Instagram channel @coldhandshosts.

Cold Hands Embalming Tip of the Week: Block potential purge
with a “Smile” preloaded syringe

After embalming or minimum body preparations squeeze the plunger into orifices like the nose and the mouth to prevent untimely purge.

Pro tip:

Plunging into disinfected, dry or cauterized tissue is really the key. I like to swab the area with a non-bleaching cauterizing agent prior to use to ensure its attaching power.

There are many uses for this product such as:

-creating a resting expression on the mouth,
-leak-proofing incisions,
-preventing dehydration on mouth or eyes,
-restoring enucleations,
-leak-proofing autopsy repairs,
-hydrating fingertips,
and much more.

Have fun with it!

Hope you like this week’s tip! Until next week Happy Embalming!
