The Springs Funeral Services Joins Foundation Partners Group

Orlando, FL – Foundation Partners Group, a leading provider of innovative funeral and cemetery experiences and products, today announced the acquisition of The Springs Funeral Services in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The acquisition adds two new locations to Foundation Partners Group’s Colorado network, bringing its footprint in the state to 10 locations.

“We are excited to welcome The Springs Funeral Services to the Foundation Partners Group family,” said Tom Kominsky, Foundation Partners Group chief financial officer. “Terri Flores-Brown, Paul Wood and Shelby Calleja, built an exceptional operation that aligns perfectly with our values and the needs of their community. We are very proud to welcome their entire team into the Foundation Partners family and look forward to growing their brand, and our Foundation Partners footprint, across the Front Range of Colorado.”

In 2007, Terri, her late husband Arlen J. Brown, and the late Hal Tumbleson (Cindy), recognized the need for an affordable, high-quality funeral home in the market. They invited Paul Wood to join as a partner and The Springs Funeral Services opened in November of that year. As the demand for their services grew, the team expanded to a second location in 2016.

When it came time for succession planning, they looked for a partner with similar values who could support the growth of their business. “We still have dreams of what we can accomplish, and we are hopeful that we can get more of our vision realized in a shorter timeframe by joining Foundation Partners,” said Flores-Brown.

Another key part of their succession planning was considering how they could support their employees. “With us owning and managing the funeral home, there were not many opportunities for our employees to advance,” Wood said. “At Foundation Partners, they now have a chance to grow far beyond what we could ever offer.”

“They will also receive better benefits,” Flores-Brown added. “They deserve it, and it’s important to us that they feel secure.”
