Plan to Attend the Cremation Association of North America (CANA) 98th Annual Cremation Innovation Convention

Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile • August 10-12, 2016

“All things cremation” is the focus for a gathering of industry professionals in Chicago this August 10-12, 2016. CANA’s 98th Annual Cremation Innovation Convention will offer a valuable mix of business-building sessions, information sessions, and networking opportunities. In addition to the keynote address on managing change with James Feldman, presenters will offer information on the impact of cremation on your business’s financial health, updates in death care regulations, news about potential revisions to the Funeral Rule, and a detailed analysis of CANA’s annual cremation statistics.

The convention includes exhibits with a diverse range of suppliers—from vault, casket, cremator, urn and keepsake manufacturers to vendors who provide banking, architectural, technology, software, and office services. The exhibits are in the same room as the general sessions so that displays and demonstrations of products and services are shared with all event participants.

Held at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, CANA’s convention locale is at the heart of activity in this world-class city. Participants will be surrounded by restaurants, high-end boutiques and department stores, theatres, concert halls, and sports venues, dazzling architecture, and city parks—all amidst the beauty of Chicago’s stunning lakefront.

The learning starts even before the convention’s official August 10 opening cocktail reception. Pre-convention workshops include Celebrant Training offered by Glenda Stansbury from In-Sight Institute (August 8-10) and the CANA Crematory Operations Certification Program™ (August 10).

Because CANA’s conventions are designed to be family-friendly, many attendees combine the CANA annual meeting with a family vacation. There will be a wealth of activities for spouses, partners, and children to enjoy this year. In addition to all the many delights the city has to offer, convention excursions will include a Cubs vs. Cards baseball game, a dinner cruise on the Chicago River, and a tour of historic Graceland Cemetery & Arboretum.
