Michael J. Watkins, CFSP, CCO joins The Signature Group

The Signature Group is pleased to announce that Michael J. Watkins, CFSP, CCO has joined the company as the Vice President of Operations & Compliance.

 

Mike has been involved in various capacities in both public and private funeral and cemetery organizations during his over 32 years in the industry.  Prior to joining The Signature Group, Mike served as the Senior Vice President of Operations for the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), where he oversaw the accounting, information technology, human resources and cremation services departments.  Mike has been a frequent presenter at various state and national meetings on topics of interest to the funeral service profession, such as customer service, crematory operations, and arrangement and communications skills.

Prior to joining the NFDA, Mike was an Executive Vice President for Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nevada, which at the time was the largest privately owned funeral and cemetery operation in North America. Mike oversaw all matters related to the development and management of Palm’s 265 employees, safety compliance, and human resources.  Earlier in his career, Mike worked as a funeral director and manager in several funeral homes in Texas and Georgia.
