ICCFA Raises $1,250 For Boston Bombing Victims
A social media campaign by the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) has yielded a donation of $1,250 to a charity that will directly benefit bombing victims in Boston.
ICCFA asked its members and social media friends to wear blue and yellow on Monday, April 22, the one week anniversary of the explosions near the finish line of the 117th Annual Boston Marathon and post them online. The association saw an enormous response of more than 100 photos posted on Facebook and Twitter.
ICCFA will donate $1 for every member who participated, or $250. Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verde, California, and The Outlook Group based in Franklin, Ohio, each pledged an extra $500 donation to the fundraising efforts. In all, the association will be sending $1,250 to The One Fund, an organization created by Boston Mayor Tom Menino and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick to help the people most affected by the terrorist attack that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.
ICCFA leaders are overwhelmed by the support its members have shown the residents of Boston and those touched by the tragic event.
