They're Not Out of Business, But They Did Have a Significant Price Decrease

I’m sure you think you just read the title of this article wrong but you didn’t. I did say price “decrease.”

Despite all the rumors I did validate with my own eyes that Genesis Casket Company  is still a company. It was easy to assume with all the shake up in their upper management team (they fired everyone) they were probably on the way down, but according to sales people in their booth they’re doing better than ever.

So, when I stopped at their booth during the 2012 NFDA convention I was extremely surprised to see new product [caskets] and even more shocked to see a 15% pricing discount for 2013.

I myself, among others, am very skeptical of the path Genesis has decided to take. It generally doesn’t work well in this profession if you have major events take place, like getting rid of your entire executive team, and you remain completely quiet. In this profession we don’t operate with the thought process of  “out of sight, out of mind,” it’s more like “out of sight, out of business.”
