Funeral Director Makes Debut on the Bachelor

imageCHICO, Calif. — A Chico woman made her debut on national television Monday night, searching for love on the ABC television show The Bachelor.

Shawntel Newton, 25, works as an embalmer and funeral director at her family’s business Newton Bracewell Funeral Home in Chico.

After Monday’s first episode, the funeral director is still in the running for the bachelor’s affections. Newton was among the 20 women who received roses at Monday’s rose ceremony. Ten women were sent home by bachelor Brad Womack of Austin, Texas.
