Like funeral service, the city of Philadelphia has a rich history that continues to grow and evolve as times change. This makes “America’s Birthplace” the perfect location for the 2016 National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) International Convention & Expo. Taking place October 23-26 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the NFDA Convention will enable attendees to revolutionize their approach to funeral service through unparalleled opportunities for learning, networking, and discovering new products and services. Registration and housing for the 2016 NFDA International Convention & Expo are now open.

The education funeral professionals need to build profitable and thriving businesses that compassionately serve the bereaved can only be found at the NFDA Convention. Engaging workshops will cover address technical skills, business management, the value of ceremony, cremation, marketing and community outreach. Experts such as Dr. Jason Troyer, Lynn Gibson, Jeffrey Chancellor, Jeri Reed, Doug Gober and Joseph Earthman, among others, will lead idea-packed education sessions during the 2016 Convention.

The NFDA Convention also features the world’s largest funeral expo. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet with vendor partners whose innovative products, services and technologies will help them run efficient businesses focused on meeting the evolving needs of families seeking meaningful funerals and memorial services. Many exhibitors plan to introduce new products to the funeral service profession during the 2016 NFDA Convention.

The Expo Hall will be open Monday and Tuesday, October 24 and 25 from noon to 5 p.m.; and on Wednesday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The NFDA Convention attracts more funeral professionals than any other gathering in the world. This diverse assemblage from throughout the United States and around the world offers matchless opportunities to network and exchange ideas.

A lot of networking happens during workshops and in the Expo Hall, but NFDA’s exclusive social events give attendees an opportunity to cement new friendship and renew old ones, all while enjoying the city of Philadelphia. Make plans to join conference attendees for the Welcome Party, hosted by President Bob Arrington and his wife Judy, at the historic Grand Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, which formerly was the Reading Railroad terminal train shed.

Not to be missed is the closing party, Comic Relief – A New Twist on the Political Party, hosted by 2016-17 President Ashley Cozine and his wife Carolyn, at the Union League, a private, members-only, Five Star Platinum club ranked the top city club in the nation. In addition to celebrating a successful NFDA Convention, guests will enjoy an exclusive performance by The Capitol Steps, a Washington, D.C.-based political comedy group. With the presidential elections taking place soon after the NFDA Convention, the renowned group will “put the mock in Democracy.”

Not to be missed are the Funeral Service Foundation Golf Classic at Scotland Run Golf Club and the Funeral Directors Under 40 Party at Lucky Strike.
