Renew, Re-energize and Get Inspired at the NFDA’s Professional Women’s Conference

Brookfield, Wis. – Mark your calendar and book your flight to Cape Coral, Florida, for the 2016 National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Professional Women’s Conference. This unique, intimate gathering is the perfect setting for funeral directors, educators and suppliers to generate new ideas, grow personally and professionally, and create lasting relationships with other professionals. This conference, which is the leading gathering for women in funeral service, will take place April 8-10 at the Westin Cape Coral Resort.

The conference begins on Friday, April 8 with a complimentary welcome reception. Immediately following the reception is a very special event, Funeral Service Foundation: Full Steam, All Aboard the Murder Mystery Dinner Train. A governor’s race turns deadly along a whistle stop tour. Discover “whodunit” while enjoying a delicious five-course dinner and train ride with fellow attendees. A ticket is required for this event.

Attendees can look forward to engaging conference sessions led by experts covering a wide range of topics:

  • Saturday, April 9
    • Leading the Conversation – How to Connect with Seniors in the Arrangement Conference presented by Lacy Robinson, NFDA director of member development
    • Community & Family Engagement: Filling the Void presented by Jason Troyer, PhD, of Mount Hope Grief Services
    • Celebrate the accomplishments of women who have earned Professional Women’s Conference scholarships from the Funeral Service Foundation during the complimentary recognition luncheon
    • Attendees will exchange great ideas on a variety of topics with like-minded funeral professionals during the popular Roundtable Discussions
  • Sunday, April 10
    • Concurrent Workshops – attendees can choose one of two fascinating topics:
      • Win/Win Thinking in a Win/Lose Market presented by Bill Hudson of Aurora Casket
      • Seeing is Believing: Facial Reconstruction Techniques and Transforming the Decomposed presented by Karl Wenzel, CFSP, MBIE, of The Dodge Company
    • Peaks, Pitfalls and Parades, Oh My presented by Dawnna St. Louis, a business growth expert

The Funeral Service Foundation will award at least five scholarships to the Professional Women’s Conference; scholarships will cover recipients’ conference registration fees and provide up to a $1,000 travel and accommodation stipend.
