Patti Martin Bartsche Earns Promotion to Key Position

WALL, N.J.  – Kates-Boylston Publications, the publisher of American Funeral Director and American Cemetery & Cremation Magazines and Funeral Service Insider, has named Patti Martin Bartsche its managing editor.

Patti-Martin-BartscheBartsche joined the Kates-Boylston team almost four years ago and has quickly distinguished herself as someone who chases down stories that resonate with funeral professionals. In 2013, she earned a first-place award from the Specialized Information Publishers Association in the Best Single News Story category for her in-depth reporting surrounding the funeral of pop star Whitney Houston.

Before joining Kates-Boylston, Bartsche was a staff writer with the Asbury Park Press, where she won numerous awards, including a first-place award from the New Jersey Press Association for her Growing Up Poor series.

“Patti demonstrates an amazing ability to connect with our readers through her writing and continues to develop meaningful relationships with all our clients,” said Allison Sullivan, publisher of Kates-Boylston Publications. “Her hard work and dedication is instrumental in increasing our reach and trustworthiness within the death-care profession. We are proud to have her as part of the Kates-Boylston family and to recognize her achievements.”

Thomas A. Parmalee, executive director of Kates-Boylston Publications, added, “I’m constantly besieged by readers who tell me how much they enjoy reading Patti’s articles, but what they don’t know is that she’s also a pleasure to work with, organized and a great person, too. We’re lucky to have her on our team, and all of funeral service is lucky to have such a fine writer reporting on the stories that matter to them the most.”

Bartsche can be reached by phone at 732-730-2583 or by email at pbartsche@katesboylston.com.
