Kasi Welch-Baker Elected to the DIG Board of Directors
Directors Investment Group (DIG), Abilene, TX, is honored to welcome third generation funeral director Kasi Welch-Baker to its board of directors.
DIG is the parent company of Funeral Directors Life Insurance Company (FDLIC).
Kasi is the co-owner of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Homes in Texas along with her father, Tommy Welch, who is also a DIG board member. Kasi’s grandfather, Ernest Welch, was one of FDLIC’s founding fathers. Kasi has served on the board as an associate director since 2012 and was officially elected as a board member at the 2014 DIG Shareholders Meeting on April 29, 2014.
“We are excited to welcome Kasi Welch-Baker as a full-fledged member of our board of directors,” said DIG Chairman of the Board, Kris Seale. “Kasi has deep roots in the funeral service profession and a thorough knowledge of FDLIC’s role within the industry. We are certainly looking forward to working with her.”
Kasi enjoys being able to serve families and considers her job a ministry to others. She loves being a part of the board and grew up learning about and observing the value of FDLIC.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the board of directors for DIG,” said Kasi. “Being a part of a company that puts its employees and clients first all while upholding Christian principles is very rare in today’s world. As a funeral director and third generation funeral home owner, I have a unique opportunity to assist in seeing that decisions that are made will help the families we serve as well as our funeral home clients.”
Kasi has served as past president of the West Texas Funeral Directors Association and as a past board member of the Texas Funeral Directors Association. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University and Amarillo College of Mortuary Science. She lives with her husband, Brad, and daughter Ellery and son Rowan in Midland, Texas.
FDLIC, rated A- (Excellent) by A.M. Best Company, is a legal reserve life insurance company which specializes in the sale of insurance-funded preneed funerals.
