Sauder Funeral Products Introduces A New Line Of Cremation Caskets And Cremation Containers
ARCHBOLD, Ohio, April 15, 2014 – Sauder Funeral Products, a wholly-owned entity of Sauder Woodworking Co., has introduced a new line of cremation caskets and cremation containers to complement its current line of engineered wood burial caskets.
The cremation caskets consist of two flat lid models – the Westvale in an Amber Pine finish and the Easton in a Carolina Oak finish. Both have crepe tailored interiors and the SFP designed ¾ lift bed. Developed specifically as an attractive low-cost option families can use for a full service viewing prior to cremation, this line serves as a price comparable alternative to traditional cloth covered caskets.
The cremation containers – Reliant and Sentinel – come in two slightly different designs, both in a Maple finish. Shipped in a flat pack configuration to minimize freight, both unpack and assemble in less than five minutes. With an inside dimension of 26 inches and weight tested to 1100 pounds, these containers give funeral directors more options to accommodate larger individuals. The Reliant has a crepe lined interior providing an appealing presentation, while the Sentinel has a pillow and mattress only.
“Having a viewing prior to cremation is very important to families. They want to honor their loved ones in the most sensible and attractive way possible. Our cremation caskets and containers provide that capability, even on a limited budget,” said Dan Sauder, vice president of engineering and new markets.
All Sauder Funeral Products caskets are 99% combustible and this new line is no different. With its engineered wood and very low metal content, SFP caskets burn better than solid wood and wood veneer caskets, thus saving fuel costs in crematories.
Sustainability is another key component to the success of the American-made SFP casket line. SFP caskets are made with engineered wood, an environmentally responsible material made from 97% recycled high quality soft and hardwood trimmings and other formerly wasted wood products that remain after the milling of lumber and plywood.
Headquartered in Archbold, Ohio since its founding in 1934, Sauder Woodworking Co. is North America’s leading producer of RTA furniture and the nation’s fifth largest residential furniture manufacturer.
Sauder Woodworking Co. is a privately-held, third generation, family-run business. Subsidiaries include: Progressive Furniture Inc., a designer and importer of wood bedroom, dining and accent furniture; and Sauder Manufacturing Company, a leader in church, educational, and health care seating.
