Carriage Services Expands Its Presence in Northeast Kentucky With the Acquisitions of Carman Funeral Home and Roberson Funeral Home
HOUSTON, TX — Carriage Services, Inc. (NYSE: CSV) announced today that it has acquired Carman Funeral Home and Roberson Funeral Home, both in Northeast Kentucky. Carman Funeral Home was established in 1913 by James Stewart Carman. Beginning in 1933 Herbert J. “Herb” Greene (Mr. Carman’s Son-In-Law) joined the firm and from that point the business was operated by members of the Carman and Greene family and ownership eventually rested with a local operator. This business will continue to be managed by a Carman/Greene family member, Bob Greene.
Roberson Funeral Home was established in 1940 in South Shore, Kentucky by S. M. Roberson and his son James Roberson. Over the years the business has changed hands several times with a series of local operators. James R. Osman, one of the business’ original employees and a prior owner, will stay involved with the business on an ongoing basis.

Carriage will now have four highly respected operations in this traditional market area, which already includes Steen and Marshall Steen Funeral Homes in Ashland, Kentucky.”
