Jennifer Branton, CEO of Vera Lee, said “We have always had a deep respect for Rita Barber. They are a fine company known for their quality, craftsmanship and exemplary customer service. While we are honored that they approached us with the opportunity to purchase their business, their long time support of the funeral industry will be greatly missed.”

In discussing their decision to sell, Lee Hampton, president of Rita Barber, said “We have always had tremendous respect for Vera Lee Garment Company. They offer beautifully designed styles which have broad appeal to the families served by funeral homes. Our companies share many of the same values in regards to quality workmanship and customer service. They have been a strong leader as a supplier to funeral service and we expect that they will continue that role as a result of the purchase of our business.”

Hampton continued, “We would like to thank our customers, sales representatives, distributors, suppliers, and our employees in Abilene, Texas who have all contributed significantly to our success for 86 years.”

Vera Lee Garments, located in Fort Worth, Texas, is a manufacturer and supplier of high quality Tribute Fashions for women and men. Additionally, the Woven Remembrance division of the company manufactures personalized memorial throws which are provided to families through their exclusive partnerships with leading funeral homes across the country.
