Tribute Technology Launches AI Event Creation Feature for Funeral Homes

Tribute Technology has announced AI Event Creation, a new feature within Tribute Management Software (TMS) designed to convert saved obituaries into structured case events. When staff members save an obituary, the software scans the text to identify visitations, services, and other gatherings, automatically adding them to the case schedule for review. This tool eliminates the need for funeral home staff to re-enter event details manually into the system’s Events tab.

Reducing Double Entry and Scheduling Errors

Funeral directors typically enter scheduling details twice for every case: once in the public obituary and again in the internal case events for staff. Retyping this information takes time and increases the risk of scheduling errors or mismatched addresses. AI Event Creation automates this process by pulling data directly from the text already written or generated in the software.

Once an obituary is saved, the software processes the text in seconds and notifies staff of the number of events detected. Each created entry includes the date, start time, duration, and location pre-filled from the home’s saved places.

Staff Oversight and Workflow Controls

The system requires human confirmation before finalizing schedules. Every automatically generated entry is tagged as AI Created and displays a warning banner until reviewed. Staff can add room details, staff assignments, arrival times, vehicle routes, and attendee lists before checking a confirmation box.

To prevent scheduling conflicts, AI Event Creation only runs on cases that do not yet have events, ensuring existing schedules are never overwritten.

“Your team already writes the service details in the obituary. Now TMS turns them into events for you, marked for your staff to review, and they show up everywhere. Write it once. It shows up everywhere,” said Dan Sharp, VP of Product Strategy at Tribute Technology.

Availability

AI Event Creation is available now in Tribute Management Software. Funeral professionals can learn more or request a demonstration at tributetech.com/ai-event-creation
