When a person we love dies so suddenly, our initial emotional responses would be shock and disbelief. Usually, it is very tough to accept the demise of a loved one.

Then, when the disbelief has worn off, it is replaced by deep anguish. With the deep anguish, it can be very difficult to make sound decisions, especially decisions related to the organization for the funeral of our beloved.

The devastating anguish one experiences after losing a loved one through death can incapacitate the person from making arrangements for a proper funeral service for their departed loved ones.

Sometimes, well-meaning relatives and friends will handle the job of arranging the funeral service. These people may desire to speed up the process of getting their lives ?back to normal? after the body of their departed relative is buried or cremated. Usually, the life of the deceased may not be properly commemorated.

Funeral directors acknowledge a grieving family?s vulnerability at the time of demise of their loved ones. This is a very singular and sensitive time. It is also the bereaved?s last chance to give honor to the one they love.

The funeral director must closely coordinate with the mourning individuals in order to have a visual of how they would prefer the funeral to be held. The funeral service director can then take care of the particulars of a funeral service that will honor the life of the deceased in a most respectable and solemn way.

Apart from making sure that a funeral will be as the bereaved specified it to be, a funeral director could also take over the application of licenses or permits for special burial requests, such as interments at sea or cremations, since these ways of burying the dead could call for special interment permits from the government.

A funeral serves the essential purpose of granting the grieving individuals to come to terms with their grief. A funeral is an essential ritual in the start of the healing process of the pain that we all go through when someone we love dies.

The funeral service is a rite of letting go yet, at the same time, holding on to the special memories that one shared with someone who has passed away.
