Funeral Directors Life (FDL) will increase average growth rates by 25 basis points, or 0.25%, on all new business sold through its preneed product offerings. The new rates go into effect automatically on November 1, 2026.

This rate increase is designed to help funeral homes protect their profitability and prepare for the future as funeral expenses and operating costs continue to rise.

“On top of serving families as best they can, funeral professionals have also had to balance rising business costs and changes to the market,” said Kris Seale, President and CEO of Funeral Directors Life. “Increasing growth rates helps us offer funeral homes greater preneed value and strengthen their businesses, which are two things we’re deeply passionate about.”

Growth rates help preneed plans keep pace with the future costs of funeral services. Along with its preneed products, FDL offers sales, marketing, accounting, financial, and technology services to support funeral home growth.

“A competitive growth rate provides a lot of financial value to our funeral home clients, but that’s just the start,” Seale stated. “A strong preneed program takes a thoughtful strategy, consistent outreach, and the right support to create lasting growth. We want to help funeral homes put all of those pieces together.”

Current FDL clients do not need to take any action to receive the increased rate on new preneed business. Funeral professionals can contact their local sales representative or schedule a meeting with the team to learn more.
