Edgewood, KY. – Funeral Profit Protectors, LLC today announced the dates for its first annual “M and M” in Granite Tour.
The “Markers and Memorials” in Granite Tour will take place October 13-15, 2013 in The Granite Capital of the World – Elberton, Georgia.

Participants will witness the mining and making of world-class granite memorials – from blasting out of the quarry to placing the finished memorial in its final resting place in the cemetery. The guided tour will afford attendees the opportunity to meet and network with major granite manufacturers and distributors. The extraordinary tour guide is Mr. C. Dale Elifrits. Dale is Professor Emeritus of Geological Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR), now known as Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, Missouri. He is a Registered Geologist in the State of Missouri and a Registered Member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration, Inc., (formerly the Society of Mining Engineers). Elifrits received his B.S. degree with majors in mathematics and chemistry in 1966. He holds M.S. degrees in earth science (applied geology emphasis) and geological engineering. His Ph.D. degree in geological engineering was awarded in 1980 by UMR. Dr. Elifrits was appointed to the geological engineering program faculty in 1980 and retired from that appointment at the rank of Professor in 2000. While at UMR, he took his UMNR “Geology for Engineers” classes to the quarry site for Missouri Red Granite on a regular basis. He has additionally led numerous tours, in conjunction with the Elberton Granite Association, to the Elberton, Georgia, area for individuals interested in learning more about the granite marker and memorial industry.
