Join Your Peers at the Funeral Service Business Plan

And the Cremation Strategies conferences

Funeral professionals throughout the country are already making plans to head to the Tenth Annual Funeral Service Business Plan Conference, Nov. 19-20, 2015, in Glendale, Arizona – and while many will be looking forward to escaping colder climates – that’s far back on the list of reasons to attend.

Attendees will learn from some of the top experts in the funeral profession. Topics include:

  • Hiring, retaining and developing top talent.
  • Appealing to consumers with savvy marketing.
  • Avoiding seven routine errors that add to overhead costs.
  • Positioning your firm for a sale and/or capitalizing on opportunities to expand.
  • Enhancing community outreach
  • Forging stronger connections with hospice care providers.
  • Reducing accounts receivable.

The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice has approved the conference for 11.5 contact hours of continuing education. States accepting Academy CEUs include Rhode Island, Maine, Delaware, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, New Mexico and Louisiana. Washington, D.C. also accepts courses approved by the Academy.

Kates-Boylston Publications, the organizer of the conference, has also obtained approvals from the following states:

• Arizona: 11.5 CEUs

• Alabama: 11 CEUs

• Florida: 11 CEUs
• Indiana: 11.5 CEUs
• Kansas: 6.5 CEUs

• Kentucky: 11 CEUs

• Massachusetts: 8 CEUs

• Minnesota: 11 CEUs

• New Hampshire: 11 CEUs

• New Jersey: 8 CEUs

• North Carolina: 11 CEUs

• Tennessee: 10 CEUs

• Texas: 11 CEUs

Kates-Boylston is also seeking CEU approvals from additional states, including Ohio and South Carolina. “While our attendees are most concerned about learning business strategies to provide better customer service and bolster business operations, we always do our very best to get the conference approved for continuing education credits from as many states as possible,” Thomas A. Parmalee, coordinator of the conference, said.

Earn Even More CEUs at the Cremation Strategies Conference

Many Funeral Service Business Plan Conference attendees will be arriving in Glendale a day early to be at the Fifth Annual Cremation Strategies Conference, a one-day event that will be Nov. 18, 2015, at the same hotel – one that provides the opportunity to earn even more CEUs!

The Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice has approved the conference for 5.25 contact hours of continuing education.

States that do not immediately accept Academy approval that have also approved the Cremation Strategies Conference for continuing education credits include:

  • Alabama: 5 CEUs
  • Arizona: 5 CEUs
  • Kentucky: 5 CEUs
  • Massachusetts: 5 CEUs
  • Tennessee: 4 CEUs
  • New Jersey: 4 CEUs
  • New Hampshire: 5 CEUs
  • Kansas: 5.5 CEUs
  • Minnesota: 5 CEUs
  • Indiana: 5 CEUs
  • North Carolina: 5.5 CEUs
  • Florida: 6 CEUs
  • Texas: 3.5 CEUs
