Abilene, TX—Funeral Directors Life Insurance Company (FDLIC) was recognized on November 19th as a 2012 recipient of the Torch Award for Marketplace Trust by the Abilene, Texas office of the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The Torch Award is presented to businesses that adhere to high ethical standards of behavior and demonstrate a commitment to customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and surrounding communities.

The mission of the BBB is to create a community of trustworthy businesses, setting standards for marketplace trust, encouraging and supporting best practices, and celebrating marketplace role models. The BBB created the Torch Award for Marketplace Trust to promote and celebrate public recognition of for-profit businesses that are positive examples to the community and maintain a solid commitment to ethical business practices.

In selecting FDLIC as a recipient of this prestigious award, the BBB reviewed the management practices, customer/vendor/supplier/shareholder relations, marketing and sales practices, and reputation within the industry and community of each nominee.

“This is a tremendous honor. We are honored not only to be recognized, but also because of what this award represents,” said Kris Seale, president of Funeral Directors Life Insurance. “We have many goals for our company, and we have achieved many things, but our proudest achievements are those that you can’t really put a dollar amount on—the respect and loyalty of our employees, the friendship and trust of our customers, and the peace of mind that our policyholders have. These are what I consider our greatest achievements.”

FDLIC, rated A- (Excellent) by A.M. Best Company, is a legal reserve life insurance company which specializes in the sale of insurance-funded preneed funerals. The mission of FDLIC is “to be known as the best, most-respected provider of service to the funeral industry.”
