New Partnership Provides Additional Locations for Anthem’s Growth in California

Anthem Partners, a premier operator of funeral homes and cemeteries, has announced that Angeleno Mortuaries, Inc. has joined Anthem Partners.  The group includes Angeleno Mortuary, Van Nuys, CA; Angeleno Valley Mortuary, North Hollywood, CA; Halley Olsen Chapel of the Valley, Palmdale, CA; All Valley Cremations, Palmdale, CA; Antelope Valley Cremation Service, Lancaster, CA; Halley-Olsen-Murphy Funerals and Cremations, Lancaster, CA; Ingold Funeral and Cremation, Fontana, CA; Fontana Mortuary, Fontana, CA; Crawford Lorenzen Mortuary, Northridge, CA; and Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home, Simi Valley.

Angeleno Mortuaries, Inc. had its start in 1997 with the opening of the flagship location, Angeleno Valley Mortuary in North Hollywood.  Over the next 15 years, the company built one additional location, Angeleno Mortuary in Van Nuys, and acquired a third firm in 2011, the former Lorenzen Mortuary in Reseda.  Beginning in 2013, Angeleno Mortuaries grew dramatically, adding additional firms in both Los Angeles County and San Bernardino County over the next ten years.

“Over the years, I have had many ‘courtships’ from other acquisition companies seeking to affiliate with the Angeleno Mortuaries organization.  Additionally, in the past, I have done a deep analysis of all the acquisitions companies, including monitoring all the public acquisition companies’ quarterly investor calls, countless conventions, study groups, and enjoying a great deal of fine dining,” commented Bill Hawkins, Founder and President of Angeleno Mortuaries, Inc.  “I have done my homework including visits with friends who have sold to other public and private companies and I am convinced there is no one better suited to lead our efforts moving forward than Anthem Partners.  As I have told my team, I am truly excited as our group joins Anthem in a ‘New Sunrise’ of opportunity!”

Bill Hawkins will now be a consultant for Anthem.  Several other members of the Angeleno Mortuaries leadership team will transition to the Anthem leadership team in the near future.  This includes Glenn Gomez as Director of Project Management Office, Andrew Hawkins as Financial and Diligence Analyst, and Jessica Rodriguez as Director of Support – Southern California.

“The firms in the Angeleno Mortuaries family enjoy an outstanding reputation throughout California and the West Coast.  I feel privileged that Bill has entrusted Anthem Partners with the outstanding organization that he has built over the past 25 years,” stated Will Andrews, President of Anthem Partners – US. “Our two organizations are a natural fit as we share the same desire to provide the highest level of personalized service to those we are honored to serve.  The many associates of the Angeleno Mortuaries are wonderful additions to the Anthem Partners family.”

About Anthem Partners:   Anthem Partners is a privately-held operator of cemeteries and funeral homes.  Founded by a group of industry professionals and backed by long-term, patient investors, Anthem Partners is actively seeking opportunities to grow with like-minded professionals and firms who share their vision. Respecting the unique history of the family businesses and acknowledging the lives lived in the communities that they serve are the founding principles of Anthem Partners.  To learn more, visit anthempartners.com.
