Gather Eliminates Manual Entry with Detailed Two-Way QuickBooks Integration

Gather, a funeral home software and website design provider, has launched a native QuickBooks Online integration. The direct two-way integration keeps invoice, payment, and product data aligned between Gather and QuickBooks Online in real time for single-location firms and multi-location enterprises. The integration is estimated to save funeral homes and accounting partners over 20 accounting hours per month per location.

Solving Manual Accounting Challenges for Funeral Homes

Funeral homes and their accounting partners lose time each month exporting, importing, and reconciling case financials manually. Duplicate data entry creates opportunities for error and takes focus away from serving families.

With Gather’s integration, a case created by a funeral director syncs to QuickBooks as an individual customer record. Itemized invoices transfer instantly, and payments recorded in Gather—whether cash, check, card, or online—post automatically to the designated account. Products listed in a firm’s General Price List (GPL) sync across both platforms as well.

Key Capabilities of the Integration

Unlike tools that rely on summarized journal entries, Gather syncs detailed invoice objects directly into QuickBooks Online (QBO). This preserves line items, package details, and contract adjustments, giving staff and accountants complete case-level financial visibility.

The two-way sync keeps invoices and payments updated seamlessly across both platforms. Payments processed in person, online, or through GatherPay (Gather’s in-platform payment processor) reflect automatically in both systems without manual reconciliation. Every supported payment type, including insurance assignments and pre-need transfers, maps directly to the designated QBO account.

For multi-location enterprises, the platform maps each facility to a distinct QBO location. Ownership groups receive consolidated profit-and-loss reporting while maintaining individual location data. Setup is guided by an automated wizard that maps product categories and payment methods to existing QBO accounts, requiring no ongoing effort from staff. Furthermore, the integration is completely native, operating without third-party middleware like Saasant or ZedAxis.

Availability and Getting Started

Following a closed beta, the native QuickBooks Online integration is now available to Gather customers.

Funeral homes and accounting firms interested in learning more can read Gather’s quick setup guide or schedule a strategy call with the Gather team to see the integration in action.
