Chptr Partners with ObituaryShare, Appoints Bob Arrington to Senior Leadership

NEW YORK — Media technology company Chptr announced that funeral service veteran Robert “Bob” Arrington has joined the organization as senior vice president of funeral home services. In his new role, Arrington will oversee the development and launch of a managed marketing product designed specifically for funeral homes. The new initiative aims to streamline funeral home marketing by integrating strategy, creative, production, media distribution and performance analytics into a single service, removing the operational burden from local staff

Arrington brings over 50 years of experience to the role as a funeral director, owner and former president of the National Funeral Directors Association. He is the founder of Arrington Funeral Directors & Crematory in Jackson, Tennessee, and has previously served as president of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association and chair of the Funeral Service Foundation.
Arrington will also remain in his current position as president of ObituaryShare, a company he co-founded with Roy Heatherly and Beth Heatherly. ObituaryShare will partner with Chptr on the new offering, supplying audience intelligence, analytics and reporting data to track marketing performance.
“Funeral directors should be able to focus their time and resources on serving families and leading their communities,” Arrington said. “The companies that support this profession have a responsibility to make marketing simpler, more effective and more accountable, not to burden funeral homes with more platforms to manage, more work for their staff or costs that are difficult to justify.”
Rehan Choudhry, founder and chief executive officer of Chptr, emphasized the value of Arrington’s industry experience.
“Bob understands funeral service from the inside out,” Choudhry said. “He knows what it takes to run a funeral home, what families expect and how communities behave. That perspective will be critical as we build a revolutionary marketing product that does more of the work for funeral homes while giving them better insight into what is working.”
