Oak Grove Funerals and Cremations Celebrates Grand Reopening, Validating Heritage Family’s Commitment to Local Legacy
Former Brent Taylor Funeral Directors Marks New Chapter While Preserving the Relationships and Service Standards Families Have Trusted Since 2020
COLLIERVILLE, TN – July 2026 – Oak Grove Funerals and Cremations recently celebrated its Grand Reopening and Community Open House, marking the successful completion of a thoughtful brand evolution that reflects both the growth of the firm and Heritage Family’s long-term commitment to investing in local funeral homes while preserving the values that made them successful.
The June 30 event brought together community members, local leaders, chamber representatives, and funeral home staff to commemorate the transformation of the former Brent Taylor Funeral Directors into Oak Grove Funerals and Cremations. Highlights included a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Collierville Mayor Maureen Fraser, guided facility tours, community engagement activities, and a donation drive supporting the Little Free Food Pantry.
For Heritage Family, the occasion represented more than a rebranding effort. It demonstrated the organization’s approach to partnering with high-quality funeral homes—investing in facilities, resources, and long-term growth while maintaining the personalized service and community connections that families value most.
Founded in 2020 by Brent Taylor, the funeral home joined the Heritage Family network in January 2022. Since then, the organization has benefited from operational support, expanded resources, and strategic investments, including its relocation to a modern facility on West Poplar Avenue in 2024. The transition to the Oak Grove brand in May 2026 reflects the funeral home’s evolution while positioning it for continued growth throughout the Collierville and greater Memphis markets.
“The transition to Oak Grove Funerals and Cremations represents a natural evolution of a funeral home that has grown significantly over the past several years,” said Lindsay Granson, Chief Operating Officer of Heritage Family. “Our goal was not to change what families valued about the organization, but to build upon that foundation. Heritage Family partners with exceptional funeral homes because of the trust they have earned in their communities. We believe our responsibility is to preserve those relationships, support local leadership, and provide the resources needed for continued success.”
Granson noted that the Oak Grove transition reflects Heritage Family’s broader acquisition philosophy—one centered on continuity rather than consolidation.
“Many funeral home owners considering succession planning worry that selling their business means sacrificing their legacy or changing the culture they worked decades to build,” she said. “Our experience has shown that growth and continuity can coexist. We invest in people, facilities, and community engagement while allowing local teams to continue serving families with the same compassion, professionalism, and personal attention that established their reputation in the first place.”
That philosophy was evident throughout the Grand Reopening celebration, where community members interacted directly with the Oak Grove team, toured the facility, and learned more about available funeral, cremation, and preplanning services. The event also reinforced the funeral home’s commitment to community service through a donation drive benefiting the Little Free Food Pantry.
According to Donnie Bobo, Location Manager of Oak Grove Funerals and Cremations, the positive response from the community reflects the strength of the relationships built over the past several years.
“We were grateful to welcome so many families, friends, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate this milestone with us,” Bobo said. “While our name has changed, our mission remains exactly the same—to remember those who made life unforgettable and to serve every family with compassion, dignity, and care.”
The successful event highlighted how thoughtful investment, local leadership, and a commitment to continuity can help funeral homes grow while remaining true to the communities they serve.
