OGR Launches Global Circle Club to Strengthen Connections Across the Global Funeral Profession

Indianapolis (June 19, 2026) – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) has launched the Global Circle Club, a strategic international membership initiative designed to strengthen relationships among independent funeral homes worldwide as the organization approaches its 100th anniversary in 2028.

The campaign focuses on reinforcing OGR’s commitment to fostering innovation, leadership development and business growth across the global profession, while expanding awareness of OGR and welcoming new independent funeral homes from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and other international markets.

“As we look toward OGR’s centennial celebration, we are focused not only on honoring our history but also on shaping the future of independent funeral service,” said Peter Urban, Jr., President of OGR. “The Global Circle Club reflects our belief that the future of our profession is strengthened when independent funeral homes from around the world come together to exchange ideas, support one another and grow collectively.”

Independent funeral homes that join OGR by August 1 will receive special recognition as Founding International Members of the Global Circle Club. Participating firms will be featured in the Fall edition of OGR’s magazine, The Independent, recognized through social media spotlights and acknowledged for helping establish a stronger global network for the profession.

In addition to welcoming new members, the Global Circle Club seeks to deepen engagement among OGR’s existing international membership and foster a greater sense of global community. Planned initiatives include:

  • Quarterly International Member Roundtables designed to facilitate peer learning and discussion of emerging trends and challenges.
  • A dedicated social media spotlight series featuring international member firms and their contributions to the profession.

  • Stories and testimonials highlighting OGR’s growing global footprint and the impact of international collaboration.

Through these efforts, OGR aims to create a more connected global network of independent funeral homes while preserving the values that have defined the association for nearly 100 years.

“Independent funeral homes around the world are navigating many of the same challenges, opportunities and changes,” said Wendy King, CAE, CVA, Executive Director/CEO of OGR. “By expanding our global community, we create stronger connections, broader perspectives and new opportunities for members to learn, innovate and succeed.”

The Global Circle Club represents an important milestone in OGR’s long-term vision leading into its centennial year and reinforces the association’s commitment to supporting independent funeral homes wherever they serve.
