Precoa Honors Employees With Values Awards

PORTLAND, Ore. – Preneed sales and marketing leader Precoa recently honored team members who exemplify the heart of its mission and the values that guide its work.

The awards, determined through a peer nomination process with dozens of nominees, come on the heels of Precoa earning its 14th consecutive Top Workplace award from The Oregonian and OregonLive. Each winner was announced with a heartfelt introduction illustrating how they live out Precoa’s core values.

“Our people are a constant source of inspiration,” said Michael Hornibrook, president and CEO of Precoa. “Their passion for living out our core values of Kindness, Progression, and Craftsmanship makes a difference for our customers, and for one another. It’s an honor to recognize the talent and dedication they bring to helping families and creating meaningful connection. ”

Those recognized reflect the spirit of Precoa’s mission and values in ways that support families, strengthen partnerships, and foster a culture of meaningful connection:

For Shelby Jimerson, Aspirational Drive and Commitment isn’t just a Precoa Value, it’s a lifestyle. As a regional manager, Shelby is always striving to offer Precoa’s funeral home partners in South Texas and Louisiana the most effective solutions for prearranging families and growing through preneed. Shelby goes out of her way to make every member of her team feel welcome with her “unmatched” energy and kind heart.

An instrumental force in Precoa’s new preneed power trio, Trevor Woller was awarded the Leader in Precoa Life award. As director of Strategic Projects, Trevor coordinated and guided the creation, testing, and launching of Sales Studio and Everplans as part of Precoa Pro. Known for his positive attitude and steady hand, Trevor is the ultimate team player and a shining example of Precoa Life.

Taylor Johnson, associate director of the company’s Funeral Planning Center in Utah, was honored for the Precoa Value of Never Stop Progressing. As a top leader of Precoa’s industry-defining lead nurture programs, Taylor is known for building up his teammates and inspiring the Funeral Planning Center to continually break records. As one nomination puts it: “Even when the FPC has its best months, he’s still finding ways that the team can work more efficiently and progress more.”

At the start of every week, Anna Mitchell meets with her fellow account managers for “Motivation Mondays,” a short check-in chat to uplift her team through inspirational quotes and discussion. A cheerleader for Account Management and the company as a whole, Anna was honored for the Precoa Value of Enjoy Connection. In just two years, Anna has grown in her role through both technical and leadership skills, and has helped Precoa grow as a result, becoming “a presence we cannot live without.”

Lina Shipley, community education program manager, was awarded Results Focused Craftsmanship. “Lina is constantly stepping back to look at the big picture,” one nomination said. “She’s a star!” Lina was hailed by multiple nominators as the perfect table-setter who ensures our Advance Funeral Planners have everything they need for  successful events that allow them to connect with families and educate them about the  importance of prearranging a funeral

Senior Funeral Planning Center Support Team Lead David Brown redefines what support and kindness mean for every Precoa team member who’s lucky enough to work with him. David’s patience, passion, and proactive nature are just some of the attributes that earned him the Always Act in Kindness award. “Does David ever have a bad day?” asked one nominator. “You’d never know.”

A champion of Precoa Values and fostering community through diversity, equity, and inclusion, Matt Hill “sets the standard” for Working Together With Trust. Matt is deeply committed to ensuring every voice is heard, all while leveling up the support that Precoa’s IT teams offer on a daily basis. As one nomination reads: “Because of Matt’s leadership, Precoa’s DEI efforts at the home office feel more human, more heart-driven, and more uplifting.”

Over the course of the past half-decade, few people have had as large an impact on how AFPs interact with Precoa’s tech stack as Senior UX Designer Amy Andrus. As the lead designer of Sales Studio, Amy worked hand-in-hand with top Advance Funeral Planners to ensure the platform redefined the preneed experience through connection-driven preneed technology. It’s for these reasons and many others that Amy was honored for Thoughtful Problem Solving.
