Virtual Funeral Professionals Peer Support Meeting in March 2025
WHEELING, IL— By acknowledging your challenges, you honor your own well-being and enhance your ability to care for others with authenticity and strength. Life for the funeral professional is a delicate balancing act. While taking on the responsibility for supporting your families and community, it’s too easy to push your own emotions aside. However, denying yourself the space to express grief and emotions can bring emotional burnout, compassion fatigue, and even physical exhaustion. On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, Jennifer Muldowney facilitates a virtual Funeral Professionals Peer Support Meeting to provide a space that grants permission to share these feelings.
Jennifer Muldowney is an acclaimed speaker on grief, host of The Glam Reaper podcast, founder of Muldowney Memorials, and a celebrant who has witnessed many expressions of grief. Throughout her career, she has reassured hundreds of families that their feelings are normal and given them permission to feel without judgment. The March Funeral Professionals Peer Support meeting is an opportunity for funeral professionals to do the same for themselves and each other.
“Grief needs a collective approach,” reminds Jennifer. “Neighbors, clubs, and local institutions stepping in to create spaces for healing.” She is dedicated to mental health, both in grief and within the funeral profession, serving as an advisor to the Board of Funeral Professionals Peer Support (FPPS) and returning facilitator to these monthly gatherings.
Granting yourself permission to grieve is not a sign of weakness—it’s an essential act of self-compassion that allows you to heal while continuing to show up for those who depend on you. Join Jennifer Muldowney, the Cremation Association of North America, and Funeral Professionals Peer Support to discuss your experiences with loss, the families you’ve served, and the challenges you face today. Or, be there just to support your peers across the profession with your presence and listening ear. If you work for a funeral home, cemetery, or crematory serving the public or supporting those who do—connect with us on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 8pm ET / 7pm CT / 5pm PT via Zoom link at cremationassociation.org/peersupport. Students, apprentices, and interns are welcome.
