ICCFA Announces Leadership Changes: Mitch Rose Resigns as President-elect; Bob Gordon Jr. Appointed as Successor

STERLING, VA (August 19, 2024) – The International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) announces significant leadership changes following the resignation of President-elect Mitch Rose, CCFE, CCrE. The ICCFA Board of Directors convened for a special meeting on August 13, 2024, where they unanimously approved the appointment of Bob Gordon Jr., CCE, to the role of President-elect, effective immediately.

Bob Gordon Jr., President and CEO of Cypress Lawn in Colma, California, is a respected leader in the deathcare profession, and brings a wealth of experience to his new position. With his appointment, his previous role as Vice President of Internal Affairs became vacant. To fill this crucial position, ICCFA President Lee Longino has selected Rafael Ochoa, General Manager of Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles, California, as the new Vice President of Internal Affairs. This selection was also unanimously approved by the ICCFA Board of Directors during the special meeting.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Bob Gordon Jr. and Rafael Ochoa to their new roles within the ICCFA leadership team,” said President Lee Longino. “Both Bob and Rafael have demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise in our field. Their contributions will undoubtedly strengthen our association and further our mission to support and advance the cemetery, funeral, and cremation profession. I look forward to the positive impact their leadership will bring to our members and the entire profession.”

Longino also acknowledged Mitch Rose’s decision to step down as President-elect due to work commitments, expressing gratitude for his service and understanding of his need to focus on other professional responsibilities.
