Passages International Introduces New Scattering Kit

March 7, 2023 (Albuquerque, N.M.) – Passages International, the leading provider of eco-friendly funeral products, is pleased to announce the release of its new Scattering Kit.

The Scattering Kits include five matching Scattering Tubes in any of their six most popular Scattering Tube designs. Each tube holds 40 cubic inches, for a total of 200 cubic inches, or a full adult set of cremated remains. The tubes are held within a custom-designed, engravable outer case with a magnetic closure. These new Scattering Kits were created to give families a convenient and purposeful option to split and scatter the cremated remains of their loved one.

“Consumer preferences data consistently indicates that over 40% of families intend to scatter their loved one’s remains, and splitting remains allows for more participation from family and friends,” said Darren Crouch, President of Passages International. “We believe that this product will create meaningful and healing experiences to honor a loved one while also respecting the environment.”

Passages is also introducing a redesigned Token Scattering Kit, which includes six token-sized Scattering Tubes that hold 10 cubic inches each. This smaller Token Scattering Kit is ideal for larger families that want to split remains among many family members, or families that only intend to scatter smaller amounts of their loved one’s remains in many different, sentimentally significant locations.

Each tube in these Scattering Kits includes a unique GEO-code, which lets families create an online memorial for their loved one and pin their final resting place on their Memorial Map. The memorial can be shared with friends and family, and the GeoTag code can be used to register and assist with returning to the exact location of the scattering.

Scattering Tubes are made from recycled paper and are biodegradable if buried, but are designed to be used for scattering and then recycled. The tubes feature a secure tab-locking system to ensure that the remains are contained properly until scattering.
