HOMESTEADERS RECOGNIZED AS 2022 TOP USA WORKPLACE

West Des Moines, Iowa — Homesteaders Life Company, a national leader in preneed funeral funding, has been recognized as a 2022 Top USA Workplace. Homesteaders was selected for this award from 1,152 companies across the country.

“Last year was a historic one for Homesteaders,” said Steve Shaffer, Homesteaders President, CEO and Board Chair. “We helped a record number of families make arrangements and fulfilled our commitments to families and funeral homes by paying out record numbers of claims, all while providing exceptional service to our customers and managing pandemic-related disruption. I view this award as a celebration of the knowledge, skills, dedication and teamwork everyone at Homesteaders has exhibited over many, many years. I am proud to have the opportunity to lead such an outstanding organization.”

Top Workplaces USA offers national recognition for large organizations, those with more than 150 employees and those that may have operations in multiple markets. Winners of the Top Workplaces USA awards are chosen based solely on feedback gathered through an employee engagement survey, issued by Energage. Results are calculated by comparing the survey’s research-based statements, including 15 culture drivers that are proven to predict high performance against industry benchmarks.

“Our recognition as a Top USA Workplace is truly a reflection of how our employees live out our core values every day,” said Judy Ralston-Hansen, Homesteaders Executive Vice President-Human Resources. “We know the work we do makes a difference in the lives of so many families, and that work would not be possible without every single employee bringing their best.”

In addition to competitive compensation and benefits, Homesteaders offers professional development opportunities, a success-sharing program, an incentive award program, paid family leave, remote and flexible work solutions and commitments to employee health and community outreach.
